I am quite shameless where my daughter is concerned. Here is a bit from the college website with a short video clip of Simone at the bottom. My only excuse for this is that after a final post tomorrow, I shall be gone for good!

Many congratulations to Simone on her stellar results - I hope she flourishes at Oxford- we will watch her political career with interest ( even if I don't actually agree with her politics!!)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's results don't quite compare academically, but we are still pleased; when I consider the little scrap of a child who left school at eight unable to do anything, she has achieved far beyond even our expectations. One maths module awaits though in Jan, so not quite done yet!
Simone is a PC correct Labour party member who fully supported Graham Badman.
ReplyDeleteWhere Peter free lesson Julie?
Lets hope you are gone for good Webb as you are a traiter to home education!
No need for excuses, well done Simone!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Simone, great results!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is also off to the university of her choice after getting triple distinctions in her BTEC (A level equivalent) course. Luckily you don't have to wait so long for those results! It must be nerve racking for those who don't get the grades they need so close to the start of the academic year.
Well done to Simone and to Simon! A proud day for both.

Peter, I almost feel tempted, for your sons sake, to offer him a place at our tuition group, but leaving aside the fact that the GCSE groups are pretty full, I think you may drive us all completely bonkers within a few weeks!
ReplyDeleteSince the demise of Simon's blog may mean that our paths don't cross again, I do hope that Peter find some fulfilment in his later life.
Thanks on behalf of both me and Simone for everybody's congratulations.
ReplyDeleteSimon.
Congratulations to Simone on her results.
ReplyDeleteI hope she enjoys Oxford, it is a wonderful university and city.
Congratulations to Simone I'm sure she will have a wonderful time :) (Which college is she going to?)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Simone and hoping she has a brilliant time at Oxford.
ReplyDelete'Congratulations to Simone I'm sure she will have a wonderful time :) (Which college is she going to?)'
ReplyDeleteThanks. She is going to Hertford College; the one with the Bridge of Sighs. I have an awful suspicion that she selected it because it was there that Brideshead Revisited was filmed in the early 80s. It was actually the college where Evelyn Waugh was and brideshead is one of her favourite books. For a long time, she was planning to apply to study English, which I regard as being a bit of a backwater. Fortunately, at the last minute she switched to PPE. I think that she feels that if she is going, she should have the full experience of dreaming spires and so on; hence choosing Hertford!
Simon.

Does she know that you're so abusive?
"C4 give you £2500000....
ReplyDeleteDream on."
I think you missed Peter's point. The point was, he has no intention of working with C4 again because they misrepresented them last time. Keep up...
That's a fair point, but in my defence it's not always easy to separate fact from his fantasies.
ReplyDeleteIn what way did C4 misrepresent them?
Congratulations for breaking a new record for Harlow. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI do hope that Peter find some fulfilment in his later life.
ReplyDeleteThat was remarkably amazing! A* result on subjects like Chemistry and Math?! Totally Great!
