Dear Kayleigh
Thank you very much for this. I think it is very important that knowledgeable
members of the home educating community are involved in the creation of the new
guidelines, rather than the minister (or more likely his staff) electing to use only
home educators local to Cardiff for convenience.
As Welsh liaison for Education Otherwise, the largest home educating charity in the
UK and author of the briefing paper used during the consultations, I am anxious
that I should be involved from the very start in all aspects of the new guidelines.
I would be very grateful if the committee felt able to recommend that my
involvement is accepted from day one.
Best wishes
Wendy Charles-Warner

Where did you get this information Simon?
ReplyDeleteWho is Kayleigh? Why do you have a letter to her from she-who-shall-not-be-named?
ReplyDeleteDon't blame the messenger! The Welsh Assembly Government are embarrassingly open and transparent; publishing correspondence almost as soon as the receive it. I just thought that this had the whiff of a hole-and-corner attempt to cut certain people in cardiff out of the loop.
ReplyDeleteKayleigh Driscoll is Deputy Clerk of the Petitions Committee at the National Assemby for Wales.
ReplyDeleteSimon says: "Don't blame the messenger! The Welsh Assembly Government are embarrassingly open and transparent; publishing correspondence almost as soon as the receive it."
ReplyDeleteIt's good for us that they do just that. We would be out of the loop if they didn't!
So it appears the witch would like to be in charge of home education right the way across Wales and in the process cause a North South divide. Lucky for us she is not a home educator and merely tutors her grandson. Simon thank you for showing us this we may have been unaware otherwise.
ReplyDeleteHow is she causing a North South divide? It sounds as though she is trying to avoid only home educators from South Wales being consulted about a document that will affect the whole of Wales. Couldn't this potentially cause a North South divide if it were allowed to happen? It also doesn't say that she wants to be in charge, just that she would like to be involved in the process. Presumably you have other information, apart from this letter, that leads you to these conclusions?
DeleteIs WCW anxious to protect her business interests?
ReplyDelete'Lucky for us she is not a home educator and merely tutors her grandson.' Not sure how the difference is pertinent.
ReplyDeleteLoads more of Simon s replies to himself again.

ReplyDeleteExplains a person who believes that there could only be one person in the world with a view different to his or her own and that if others apparently agree with this one person, then it must surely be a trick. The obvious explanation being that those who seemingly have similar views must be his sock puppets and imaginary friends. Truly astounding world view!
Is it time for me to pop up again?
ReplyDeleteIf you wish to be taken for another of my imaginary friends, then go right ahead!
ReplyDeleteWhat the bollocks does a forensic psychologist actually do?
ReplyDeletewhat exactly does a forensic psychologist do?
ReplyDeleteI wondered this myself! Mrs Charles-Warner claimed to Companies House that this is her occupation, although I am skeptical. I would be interested to hear of anybody who had encountered her professionally. We must hope that this really is her occupation, because it is of course a breach of the Companies Act to provide false information when registering a company. This at least is what I have been told bu Companies House.
ReplyDeletenot long to go for Peter to get his A Level results wonder what he get for further maths? your be pleased webb if he gets an A?
ReplyDeleteAccording to the link above:
ReplyDelete"Forensic psychology is a regulated career and you must have an accredited degree and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)"
Wendy Charles-Warner does not appear to be registered with the HCPC.
