you going to invite the nice LEA man around to your house to show off?
Tell me Mr. Williams, do you like word games? Here's a good one; rearrange the following words into a well known phrase or saying. Ready? Life, a, get.
Mr Anon - stop being silly ..since Simone must be an excellent commendation for all home educators let us all benefit from her reflected glory...even if you don't like her father it is always good news when an home educated young person does well, isn't it? Well done, Simone.
Simon i thought i was illiterate simple question are you going to ask the nice LEA man round to your house to show off? you could also invite the welfare worker round as well Just in case! surly as you are such goods friends of the LEA they love to pop round you could lay on some tea and cakes! Julie-is Simone an excellent commendation for all home educators what because she passed some exams?
"surly as you are "You got that right, Mr. Williams!
Off out to teach a group of home educated maths for the morning...answer you later!
Simom-will not answer about asking the nice LEA man round to his house to show off his daughters exam results have you falling out with your LEA? you could have taken a group photo of all of you dont forget to smile!Julie- you get paid for that? you really a teacher? not keen on maths myself all those numbers and the teacher shouting dreadful keep calm and think of the sea
Well done Simone!
Thank you, Anonymous.
dont forget to invite uncle Badman hel ove to look at your daughters exam results just think you have all your friends round you could have LEA Badman Welfare Worker what a great bunch of people to invite into your home any any one for cake Simone could serve the tea! then group photo what a great day that would be.
Anon of Hampshire - you asked "Is Simone an excellent....because she passed exams?" In Simone's case yes..her results are outstanding and she deserves praise- and her results can do nothing but prove that home ed works. If however you are asking me whether I think that are exams are the only measure of success....of course not. I think I have said before that I have a severely disabled son who is 16; for him I would consider it a proud moment if he managed to scoop a spoonful of dinner in to his mouth! If a young person is capable of conscientious study and achieves his or her goals academically they deserve praise. I am not ignoring either the fact that there are many characteristics which are desirable in my mind which aren't measurable by exams - hmm- kindness, honesty, self control would all rate highly too. For home educators though who have chosen the path of exams and excelled-both parent and child deserve some recognition.
Anon again, Yes, I was once a paid teacher even,I must confess, in the employ of Hants CC for one year..although that was 15 years ago. I now do some private tuition of school children for which I get paid, but the teaching I do for the home ed group I do without pay. Why?a)I love teachingb)This group grew up and around my daughter and myself - these are my friends, even though of course children grow up and go off to college.c) Many parents want help with exams - this is my contribution to the home ed world.
Julie-But Simon is showing off over his daughter? and belives in the Badman?dcsf/Ed balls way of doing home education any other from of home education he wants stoped and banned simon is crazy and mistrust all parents until there have been checked and rechecked!and tested and filmed/interviewed.The man is crazy. You worked for HCC that bunch of lieing toe-ragsso you are a teacher amazing do there teach you at teacher training school to mistrust parents? and what nasty things are said in the staff room about parents by teachers?you love teaching or the power it gives you over children/parents?You help a home ed group with out pay? that helps redeem you a little.Never did like maths all those numbers jumping around in my head much prefer to be at the beach making sandcastles.Who have thought we meet a real life teacher you want an apple!
Why shouldn't they show off? This seems a bit too close to the way school children sneer if someone is interested in learning and achieving. I you're the same anonymous who has commented before, I've also heard you say how well your child plays chess, why is this different?
No Mr Anon, I don't think that Simon is crazy at all... I think that he has a pretty good grasp of what the problems are - it is how to solve them that is the thing we are trying to debate! I think all human beings should care about the fate of others - and Simon cares deeply for those that he feels are not getting the education that they deserve...as do I; but how we differ is in our approach to the solution.
Julie-Simon does not care about those he thinks are not getting an education.Because all he has to offer these children is to be forced to go to a crap school that has failed them.He has no interst in these children and wants to use them to help LEA gain power over home education.Good old Simon caring about children that is a joke tell you waht Simon if you care so much how about geting your money out of your bank and paying for these children to have tutors? or is it only your daughter that you will do this for?You not answerd my question about your teacher training about being mistrustful of parents and what nasty things are said in the school staff room by teachers about parents.Humans being dont really care about the fate of others to busy looking after there self nice thought but does not happen.Amazing your a teacher and we met!Sharon its different because Simon supports Badman/DCSF and that fool Ed Balls and Peter has played for England at chess not passed some exams which a lot of emplyors take no notice of
" you haven't answered my question about teacher training...." - well, I did PGCE after my first degree 33 years ago and it is all lost in the mists of time... the only notable things I can remember are learning to use a spirit duplicator (?called a banda) - all very primitive now, and the fact that I had never drunk a single cup of coffee throughout my student years until I went on teaching practice! I do think though that we have always been pretty nice to parents..after all, some of my colleagues, even then, were parents themselves, and either directly or indirectly, the parents paid us!!
Julie-But we do know that things are said in the staff room by teachers about parents some ex teachers have confrimed this and a lot of what was said was not very nice about the parents.Judgements where made about parents because of what clothes there had on or where there lived.I also never found teachers keen to admit that there paid by the tax payer and as such should be held to account for there actions.Julie why is so hard to sack a teacher? where as in other jobs if you dont perform you out.I must say i do enjoy these chats with youSimon if as you claim you care about these chilren when are you going to pay for them to have tutors?
To be fair to teachers, it is not only in staffrooms that awful things are said about dysfunctional parents and their ghastly offspring. Scrawled on the files of some of the clients using clinics and health centres in Hackney are cryptic notations such as PPP and NFH. What can these signify? Are they Latin abbreviations perhaps? Well no, actually. They stand for Piss Poor Protoplasm and Normal For Hackney.......
Simon- so you admit that very nasty things are said about parents by teachers? but you are saying its because the parents are dysfunctional and the offspring are ghastly? how do the teachers come to this judgement? by what the child wears? where it lives? not in the right area or if parents are poor?I hope you never get to work in Hackney?if you do work there you should be sacked at once. perhaps Simon you just like to get rid of these parents/children you do not like? like Hitler did Gas chamber? your views are very dangerous!
but don't SOME parents say nasty things about teachers? Hmm...
Julie-I am sure there do and often with good reason but the difference is the teacher is being paid! and why is it so hard to sack a teacher? where as in other jobs if your not up to it your sacked!I really do enjoying talking to teacher! reminds me all these years ago when i was at school.
Well done to Simone.
Thank you Mary, I have passed on the message to Simone.
