Update on the proposed new guidelines
It seems that the person who has been writing the new guidelines in collaboration with Graham Stuart is in fact Alison Sauer, who provides training on the subject of home education for local authorities. I cannot help wonder who is paying for all this; if the taxpayer then there does not appear to have been much transparency! I am sure that now we know one of the people involved, everything will become a little clearer.

Any clues as to the source and their reliability?
ReplyDeleteThis is a hot topic on one list I have seen, which also gives the same name as above.....
ReplyDeleteAlison is a regular visitor here. It goes without saying that if she tells me that I am wrong about this, I shall grovel and apologise at once!
ReplyDeleteAre you going to grovel and apologise to EO then?
ReplyDelete'Are you going to grovel and apologise to EO then?
ReplyDeleteGrovel and apologise for what? I pointed out that they were not opposed to compulsory registratin at the time of the select committee. I suggested that they might well be embroiled now with Graham Stuart. Alison Sauer may be drafting the actual guidelines, but she is being aided by others. Are you saying that Education Otherwise have categorically denied being involved in this? If so, then yes, I will certainly apologise!
You didn't imply that they were the mysterious people working behind home educators backs on new guidance then? If this is the case you really aught to brush up your writing skills because I could have sworn that was the basis of you last article.
ReplyDeleteSorry replied to the beginning before reading to the end of your last comment. Are you saying then that your source is a bit suspect, that they do not know all of the parties involved?
ReplyDelete' Are you saying then that your source is a bit suspect, that they do not know all of the parties involved?'
ReplyDeleteI am saying that Alison Sauer is actually doing the writing and that other people are also involved, helping and advising. I suspect that some of these are members of Education Otherwise, but if that is not the case then in view of all the rumours circulating, it would be easy enough for EO to deny that this is so.
They have.
ReplyDelete'They have. '
ReplyDeleteCould you let us know where this has been said?
You've already been asked for the source of your information and refused to give it. Why expect others to give you their sources? Suffice to say it came from EO.

ReplyDeleteI understand you to be saying that Education Otherwise deny being involved with Graham Stuart in this enterprise, but do not wish to tell people publicly that this is the case. That's absolutley fine. As soon as they issue the public denial, my public apology will be ready and waiting!
So your are prepared to accuse based on here say, but not apologise?
ReplyDeleteBah, spell checkers!
ReplyDeleteMake that hearsay.
