Interesting document

I thought that readers might like to see this;

http://www.c4eo.org.uk/themes/safeguarding/files/ehe_report_final_to_dfe.pdf

As soon as you read that this was, 'an exercise aimed to scope the landscape', you just know that you are going to disagree with the authors!

  1. That report is of no use as Badman report was rejected due to the children's bill not being passed in the house of commons!

  2. The report makes an error in law and guidance and encourages 'ultra vires' actions (se para 2.7) but more irritating is that the report barely mentions actual safeguarding...just contact with EHE families as if the one equals the other!

    That report to my knowledge is not appearing anywhere but on the website fo the people who did it so it seems as though it died a death.

    and Simon...... seeing as you are keeping up with the latest gossip why do you not mention the only bit you know for sure to be true- that I stated publicly that I was interested in the reworking of the guidelines and wanted to talk about it (not here on your blog nor everywhere possible but in a singular archivable place ?

    Well, I have not actually mentioned you at all Tania. You need not feel under any obligation to talk about any subject here! I am a bit foxed here as to what you are talking about.

  4. I was talking about the speculative previous post and wondering why the only bit you know to be accurate is the bit you missed out. I am certainly not going oto start a major conversation nor debate on your blog for ther same reason I have given elsewhere and above but that doesnot mean i cease to read widely.
    BTW I do think Imran is in Pakistan and I do hope he will not be alarmed at his apparent ability to be in 2 places at once.

  5. UPDATE- Imran no longer missing in Home Education- but I will leave it up to him if he wants to respond to the speculation.
